When using the latest ALM (evaluation) software, version 3.2, problems might occur during the phone detection process in combination with a Cisco 7912 A.

A software-bug has been discovered within the firmware of the “old” Cisco CP-7912-A IP phones. This specific phone does not send the required CDP packets, ALM relies on these CDP packets during the detection process.

Cisco has canceled the support and development of the CP-7912-A phones. So to be able use ALM, when using these specific type of phones, do not use automatic phone detection but configure manual settings. ALM will work with manual detection settings.
