CUCM14 7960 running SIP and ExtensionMobility

How to (re)activate the Enable Extension Mobility on Cisco 7960 IPphones running SIP firmware? Check our workaround.

In the latest Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager) 14 release, ExtensionMobility feature is no longer supported for Cisco 7960 IPphones running SIP firmware. For these specific phone types, the Extension Mobility ‘ticket box’ appeared to be removed and administrators couldn’t activate the option at the CM Administration Device \ Phone level. This of course also impacts our ALM PRO EM-SSO solution.

To re(activate) Extension Mobility – and ALM PRO – for Cisco 7960 IPphone, a simple workaround is available: Convert the Cisco 7960 IPphone from SIP to SCCP. This allow you to (re)activate the EM feature and ALM PRO.
